FISHING IN WOVIA
The most economical subjet in Wovia is fishing.There are basically two type of fishing, the local and industrial fishing.
The local fishing is done with fishing equipments like canoes,net,magic ropes,hookes and paddles.While industrial fishing is done with trailers and Nigerian fishing vessels which can stay in the sea for two or more weeks.
The women arround the neighbouring villages like in Wovia,Botaland,Isokolo and many other buy the fishes for smoking which is later carried to the market for sale and consumption.In the market people come from very long distances to buy the fishes which in turn is sold in their own small markets.These people come from within and out of the country to buy the fishes like Douala,Yaounde, etc.
