Ruben is one of the teachers of The Association Of Linux Friends From Switzerland, this is the third time that he has come to Cameroon. The first time he came to The Association of Linux Friends Cameroon was in 2008-2009 and the second time was in 2010-2011.
Ruben has been of great help to the Association of Linux Friends. He help in developing the courses used by the students, he also develop a cybersoftware call mkahawa.
It was on that bright Wednesday 02/03/11,at about 3:30pm that the students of Linux Friends organised a spectacular send-off party for Ruben who was traveling to his country Switzerland, Super tailer Ajackajoh also offered him some gifts.
The students all assembled at the school conference room at about 3:30pm. An opening prayer was conducted by Esther who ask for Gods guidance and journey mercies of Ruben. It followed by a short talk by Jofi. She thank Ruben for the material,moral and financial support rendered to the school. After that was immediately followed by a departure song conducted by Augustine. Michel who is the proprietor of the institution also gave a short talk too encouraging the students on hard work, he equally felt unhappy as he said he will be alone and that there will be no other person with which they can disused in Swiss German.
Two ex-students who were present also made short speeches one counteracting the statement of Michel saying that he was not alone as he said, and that we are like a family here. The ex-student equally congratulated Chanceline and said behind any successful man there must be a woman, thereby appreciating the hard work of Chanceline. Ruben therefore concluded a talk promising to return in about two years against the students wish who wanted him to come back in a years time. He said that the only problem preventing him from coming in one year was finance.
The social aspect was not let loose as rice was prepared accompanied by drinks with finance coming from the students and Michel. This good rice dish with fresh fish from the Limbe sea was prepared by Angela, Ethel, Pauline, Ngwa. The students all ate and drank with Ruben and were very excited. Nelson who was a disc joker played good melodies and African musics.
Dance and excitement was our priority that ended the occasion as every body was happy as they went back to their various destinations,some giving Ruben personal appreciation(presents or gifts) and the mola title(A royal title in the tradition of the Bakwerians(coastal tribe in the South West region of Cameroon) was given to him. He was therefore to travel the next day.
