The Association of Linux Friends is a legally registered, decisions are taken by the board members, it is an international organisation with agencies in Bamenda, Yaounde, kribi and Limbe, and Switzerland, the main mission is to serve humanity especially the youths and women, contributions to communities developments and the objectives is to support the under privileged members of the society, to instill in the youths a strong spirit of responsibility. The total number of the decision making organ is 8, made up of 4 women and 4 men, the average age of the members of the decision-making organ are from 25-72 years old, the association is not out to generate revenue but is out to help members through training.

The total number of members who have received training with the association of Linux Friends is 280 and the structure of the Association of Linux Friends now is 35, the average age range of members of the association are from 15-30, we hold meeting regularly that is every week, the main decisions concerning the human resources, objectives and strategies, planning of activities are collectively done.

The Association of Linux Friends is in the domain of professional training , some of the activities include training on computer software using the Linux operating system, on Open Office.org word processor, Open Office.org Spreadsheet, Open office.org presentation this can last for three months. secondly, we have for static Webpage design Html, Java scribe, Joomla for 3-6months, thirdly, we have database management with Mysql, wireless networking, and maintenance which last for 1year and above, lastly we have training on Biogas production, solar energy which last for 6months and above all this to help empower the youths.

In addition, our methods of communications are through the Internet, telephone, ICT, we have a strategic plan of 3-5years, all the members of the association take part in the strategic planning, we will like to modify the strategic plan and the objective will be to transform the lives of many young people especially young women and people needing special assistance.

Equally, the Association of Linux Friends has partnership relations with other organisations on presentation, execution of some activities and technical assistance, our sources of finance come from individual nationals, and international individuals. The competences and experiences that our personnel can share are, web-masters, programmers, Installations of softwares, secretary and computer repairs.

However, the Association of Linux Friends provide financial support to advance student who help in teaching the new comers and presentation of the activities. We have a total number of 11 students that the association offer financial assistance. The association has also provided chief Dikanjo George of Wovia with a Desktop computer to help him do the work of his traditional council, The association has supported the office of the Delegate of Youth Affairs Fako with a computer, the association has supported G.S.S Bonadikombo with a computer, even though this school did not have electricity when we brought this computer there, the students were doing the practical work in the house of Madam Matute Enanga Dorothy who is the principal of the school and some times they were also coming to our center.

Furthermore, the association has also supported Dr George Bwelle with solar light during operations of patience of different illnesses in Nditam, the association of Linux Friends gives attestation at the end of it courses, also the association has participated in the 43th, 44th, and 45th Edition of the National Youth Day Celebrations, beside the association has been celebrating Software Freedom day since 2007.

More so, the association is registered with the Delegation of Youth Affairs Fako and has been participating in the activities of the Cameroonian National Youth Council for Limbe II. Again the association has install low power computers in Presbyterian Girls High School Limbe with the Linux Operating System, Members of the association has assisted in supervising word processing on the 22nd of May 2010 at the accommodation center no 2051 NCHS Limbe and in 2011 June 2011 session 7090 DATA PROCESSING2-Advanced Level. Accommodation Center 2026 Government Technical High School Buea. Moreover, the association has come out with the map of Limbe town with the help of a Global Positioning System(G.P.S) which was presented to the Limbe Community on the 17th of February 2010.

Also, the school has been organising presentations, graduations, and release parties with the aim to invite the public to come and see what the school is doing. Presently we are helping AIESEC (switch) in Yaounde with training on Linux Operating system, especially the E-learning part of it, we have also work with Goethe-Institut in Yaounde Bastos by installing computers into their Library.

The Delegate of Youth Affairs Fako and the Delegate for Multipurpose center for Fako has visite the association to see the activities of the association and to see how this delegations can be of help to the association. The association has support the village of Biteng in Yaounde with four computers to help the youth of this community. We have visitor from in and out of the country coming every year to visit the school and to support in their own ways.
