MAXWELL'S Experience with Linux Friends Association.

     First, I discovered the institution while I was on my way to Bobende, from Limbe. It was on the month of February, precisely on the 2nd, that I saw a blackboard beside the road talking about free computer training. I was certainly flattered by the word free. When I came on the following day to acquire the details of that information of FREE TRAINING, I heard many interesting informations such as the whole name of the institution and that it was leaded by an european who brought the conception.

      I was then stimulated to register immediately, me and my wife. I started taking courses as from February 13th and I discover that it's not so difficult. As time goes by, I discovered that my talent is increasing automatically with my studies. Four months later, I'm surprised that I can talk with confidence where people are discussing about computer knowledges.

       Finally Linux friends Association has significantly increased my knowledges background.

LYDIA'S 3 MONTHS OF EXPIRENCE WITH LINUX FRIENDS

             My name is called Lydia Ako T. I am doing computer science and maintainance in Linux school in Mokindi Village-Limbe. I have been here for past three months and I have some experiences to share. It may be good or bad but just accept it. I have never and ever studied computer any where in my life time but I have that desire and vision to study it because I know that one day it is going to help me as far as life is concerned. My first day in school was very hard, it was not so that easy because I did not even know how to use the mouse, doing K touch, open to courses, type letter etc.

             today, I am proud to say that at least I know one or two things as far as computer is concerned. I can now turn on and switch off the computer, I now understand the meaning of system unit and monitor. I can open to courses without any one showing me what to do. I have some basic knowledges on some lessons like Open Office Impress, Calc, Writer, H.T.M.L, Data Base, Networking and some few things inside the System unit. Such as the Mother Board, Memory, Extension Card, C.P.U, Power Supply etc. that is just the basic.

             I have come to experience that in Linux we are indeed friends because we share our knowledges, talents and we learn as a team. I have got some experiences such as, seeing the advance students teaching the beginners. It is wonderful and I love such spirit and in this institution there is a program called MORAL INSTRUCTION and Linux is free and open source software.

             There are programs you will like to study out there and it will cost a lot of money, but here in Linux it is free. As for the negative side, I have experienced that, meeting is held every Tuesday and I don't like that idea and the teacher at times behave as if she doesn't want to see us by sending us away just because we don't attend meeting or pay our contributions; and because of this, many students have left the school. Also, there is only one teacher making the work hard for her. But in life there are also times to love and time to hate, time to cry and time to laugh. As far as life is concerned, good and bad times will come. That is why I choosed to focus my eyes on good experiences, forgetting about the negative sides. So I have decided to study here until I finish my courses if God permits.
