It is the first ever National Youth Day celebration in Cameroon It was also celebrated in the S.W.R specifically in Limbe The LINUX FRIEND ASSOCIATION was one of the participant(s) The ASSOCIATION began it's preparations on the 3rd of August 2010 The practice began with singing based on the theme of the celebration "DIALOGUE AND MUTUAL UNDERSTANDING." The singing was immediately followed by a Balatte dance with the song titled "ROLL IT"(P-square) On the 7th of August 2010,the students made their first appearence in "YOUTH AND ANIMATION CENTRE"-(DOWN BEACH)
On that day,the following activities took place-(1)Singing,(2)Dancing (3)Balatte dance and(4)Debate. It should be noted that the Debate did not end because of confusion on the Debate topic. The LINUX students took part only in Singing and Balatte of which they took first in balatte and second in singing. Because of their performances, they were asked to come again on Thursday the 12th of August 2010. It should be noted that not all the students were present on that day. Some were absent because of the marathon which did not take place.
The students of Linux friends and thier teacher Chanceline took the opportunity to present to the population what they do in their school, they presented the low power computers, solar panels, solar bulbs and how a solar panel can be connected to a low power computer. Unfortunately it was raining so they could not do any demostration how energy is got from the sun and used by the solar panels.
