THE SOFTWARE FREEDOM DAY IN LIMBE



The celebration started with match pass from Bobende at 9:30 am , it was full of fun as students were singing playing the drums and carried placards with messaaages concerning SFD and FOSS.






Assembling at the training centre after match pass, there was self introduction followed by singing of the ubuntu solidarity song.



Mr. Chi David from Bamenda Opened presentation by bringing greetings from the LUGB. He also conducted a question and answer session on SFD and FOSS.


There was some light refreshment and a presentation by chanceline who presented the activvities , goals, and objectives of the Associaton of Linux Friends to Participants.


Participants were allowed to work with the computers inorder to see and use ubuntu and chat using skype. Fospac, Daniel, Eric had a chat session with people from switzerland like Michel, Raphael and others, we had ongolaboy from Douala.



Presentation and reports from different group Bamenda
Mr Chi David and the group from Bamenda presented on wireless Networking and also introduced the function of a new network product call corinex which mr samuel chi a computer teacher from turkey brought. This product works with electricity supply to provide internet connection.
He also introduced a new product the Security camera and called on the general public to make good use of these products.


There was heavy refreshments followed by the cutting of cake.


We were supposed to have a chat session with The Canadian Group - ICT4D, For African Leader Michael Mackinnon but using a web-cam but unfortunately ,we had a break down with our machine.

The day ended with networking and a closing remark from N. Chanceline, the Cordinator of The Association Of Linux Friends Limbe. Excahnge of E-Mail addresses and Tel: No also took place between the participants and students.
